LIGA awarded €1.5m in funding for epigenetic research in brain aging

2016 ended with great news for our team: First, the European commission announced that it will fund the LifeBrain project (of which €1.1 million will go to LIGA). Soon after, the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund based in the USA announced its decision to support the CureAD-CIRCUITS consortium (of which €400.000 will go to LIGA). In both studies we will elucidate the role of epigenetic factors on brain aging across a number of different cohorts in Germany, Europe and the US.
