LIGA welcomes two new PhD students as team members, Laura Deecke and Jan Homann. Both have recently received their Master’s degrees in Computational Life Sciences at University of Lübeck. In their MS thesis work, they already worked for the LIGA team: Laura by performing genome-wide association studies (GWAS) in the BASE-II dataset and Jan by running GWAS in the EMIF-AD study sample. During their PhD they will work on the EPIC4ND projects which aim to derive “multi-omics” disease prediction model for incident Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease in the EPIC cohort. They will be co-supervised by Drs. Christina Lill and Lars Bertram. Welcome aboard the LIGA ship!
