MiRNetAD is a collaborative project between LIGA and the group of Professor Ling-Qiang Zhu at Huazhong University in Wuhan, China, for which we will combine cutting-edge high-throughput genomics technologies with state-of-the-art in vivo functional modeling to decipher the connection between microRNA-RNA regulatory networks and dysfunction of the entorhinal cortex (EC)-hippocampal (HPC) neural circuit in AD. The two projects were selected for funding by a recently instated initiative by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). With a total number of 576 proposals submitted at both partner organizations it attracted a great deal of interest. The DFG and NSFC announced in December 2017 that a total of 131 proposals were selected for funding; the LIGA team is very pleased to announce that “MiRNetAD” was one of them.
