Researchers from Lübeck (LIGA & Institute of Neurogenetics) launched the MDSGene database to the public today (it is freely available at www.mdsgene.org). MDSGene aims to provide a comprehensive, systematic overview of published data on movement disorder patients reported to carry causative gene mutations. MDSGene currently contains data on more than 400 different mutations extracted from more than 300 individual publications. Over the coming months, MDSGene will be expanded to cover all major movement disorders and diseases. The development and curation of MDSGene is supported by the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), click here to find details on the international team behind MDSGene.
